Friendly Diamonds, October 7, 2026. Filtering to round stones between 2.00 and 2.10 carats, the cheapest listed price was $755. Every stone on the listing page showed an IGI grading report. Friendly Diamonds also showed a crossed-out price on each stone - that crossed-out figure was consistently about 30% above the sale price. The $755 is the price you pay, before the setting1.
Brilliant Earth, October 2, 2026. The median for laboratory-grown round diamonds between 1.90 and 2.19 carats was $1,950 in the listings we read. A specific 2.01 carat I VS1 Super Ideal cut was listed at $1,7702.
With Clarity, October 2, 2026. A 2.05 carat round F VVS2 Ideal IGI was listed at $1,039 - the page stated this was $346 off a $1,385 original. With Clarity shows both figures on every stone4.
StoneAlgo's average. StoneAlgo, which indexes listings from multiple jewelers, reported an average 2 carat lab-grown round price of $1,047 at the time of our search3. That figure mixes all colour and clarity grades, so individual stones differ widely.
IGI is the most common report at this weight. Of the 2 ct lab-grown rounds we read at Friendly Diamonds, Blue Nile and With Clarity, every listed stone named an IGI report. The FTC requires a clear qualifier such as "laboratory-grown" when the stone is called a diamond9.

Prices are what the buyer pays. Friendly Diamonds shows every stone with a crossed-out higher price; we record only the sale price. Brilliant Earth's figure is a median of 25 listings, not a single stone. StoneAlgo is an index average across multiple retailers.
The stone prices above are for the stone alone. A plain solitaire setting adds a separate line to the budget. Friendly Diamonds' setting range started at $430 on October 5, 20261. Adding the cheapest stone ($755) and the cheapest setting ($430) gives about $1,185 before tax at one jeweler - see setting prices for more.
Brilliant Earth's plainest solitaire setting was $650 on October 2, so a 2 ct lab round at the Brilliant Earth median plus that setting would be about $2,6002.
Laboratory-grown diamonds resell for a small fraction of what they cost at retail. Industry estimates vary: brdiamonds put resale at 10 to 30% of purchase price8. Friendly Diamonds offers a lifetime trade-in that credits 100% of the original price, but the new purchase must cost at least double the credit, custom items are excluded, and the credit expires in 7 days5. There is no buyback offer on its exchange page.
Wholesale prices for lab-grown diamonds fell 13% year-over-year in Q2 2026 (Edahn Golan7). Retail prices follow. A 30-day return window (Friendly Diamonds6, Blue Nile) means you can return if prices drop sharply in that window, but it is not price protection after delivery.

Most 2 ct lab-grown rounds we read at Friendly Diamonds, Blue Nile and With Clarity named an IGI report. Brilliant Earth uses its own grading for Super Ideal cut stones. Ask for the report number and check it on the laboratory's site124.
Resale values are a small fraction of retail, typically 10 to 30% according to industry estimates8. Prices are still falling at wholesale. Plan to keep the stone rather than sell it.

Diamond listings change by the hour: stones sell, prices move and sales start and end. Every price here is the merchant's listed price on the date shown. The merchant's own page is the final word on price, availability and terms.
RingPrice Index does not sell jewelry, does not grade stones and does not take your details. We read merchants' public listing pages and report what they showed.
